Magpies Sign Sione Taufa from Otahuhu

The Magpies have secured the signature of experienced centre Sione Taufa ahead of the 2026 season. Taufa, 26, joins from Otahuhu Leopards where he was a standout performer over the past three seasons.
"Sione is a quality player who will add real punch to our backline," said coach Dave Wilson. "He's got great footwork and is strong in defence — exactly what we need."
Taufa will wear the number 3 jersey and is expected to form a strong centre pairing with Matt Johnson.
